About the course
If you are passionate about the environment and enjoy working outdoors this course will kick-start your career in conservation. Develop your knowledge of marine and terrestrial ecosystems to become effective kaitiaki of Aotearoa鈥檚 coastlines, bush, wetlands and alpine whenua.聽 Gain hands-on skills such as how to drive 4WD and light utility vehicles (LUV's) and operate and maintain chainsaws and brush cutters. You鈥檒l also undergo specialised training in ground pest control methods, building and maintaining tracks, fences and other conservation facilities.
Entry requirements
To be admitted to this course, applicants must meet the following general admission requirements:
NCEA Level 2 with passes in English/Te Reo M膩ori or education achievement at least equivalent to NCEA Level 2
