About the course
As a beauty therapy apprentice youâll be employed by a beauty business and be trained by a qualified employer or trainer in the clinic. Youâll learn how to perform a range of beauty services, including: Facial therapy Lash tint, brow tint, and eyebrow shape Makeup â day, evening, bridal, ball, and special occasion Waxing Manicure Pedicure Safe tanning Foundation massage â neck, back, and shoulders Youâll learn the business and commercial skills required to run a professional salon. Youâll also gain relevant, valuable work experience to include on your CV. When you finish your apprenticeship, youâll be fully qualified and achieve the 91ÊÓÆ” Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4).

To become a HITO hairdressing, barbering or beauty therapy apprentice, you must be fully employed in a salon, barbershop or clinic anywhere in 91ÊÓÆ”. Once youâre employed, youâre able to sign a training agreement with your employer and HITO.
HITO have Sales and Training Advisors across the country who will support your apprenticeship journey by visiting your workplace and providing you with training materials to support your learning and assessments.
Hairdressing, barbering, and beauty therapy apprentices
have many opportunities to progress into senior roles. The communication,
business and problem-solving skills they gain during their training prepare
them for a range of careers in and outside of the hair and beauty industries.
