About the scholarship

The Frank Evison Research Scholarship in Geophysics is established in memory of Emeritus Professor Frank Evison, aimed at supporting students at the Masters by Thesis or PhD level who are conducting research in long-term seismogenesis and long-range earthquake forecasting. The scholarship provides financial assistance to continue the work led by Professor Evison, who was a pioneer in earthquake forecasting research.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be enrolled or intending to enrol in a Masters by Thesis or PhD at Te Herenga Waka鈥擵ictoria University of Wellington. Research must focus on long-term seismogenesis and long-range earthquake forecasting. A completed online application must be submitted by 4:30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4:30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered. Please refer to the for details.
