About the scholarship
To honour Douglas's legacy, his family, partner, and colleagues have created three annual scholarships and awards in his name to support post-graduate students, emerging researchers, accomplished scholars, and practitioners in Disaster Risk Reduction. These awards recognise and advance Douglas's visionary work in disaster science, his deep commitment to education, and his global impact on building resilient communities.
